Online Shopping in China: Beginner’s Guide

Most expats are comfortable with online shopping back home because they know how to spot the deals while avoiding the fakes and scammers. But in China it is not as easy with language and cultural barriers. As a result many don’t even try to dive into the world of online shopping in China, but really you are missing a lot. It’s time to get your feet wet, and we can help.

Taobao: The Holy Grail of Online Shopping

Taobao (www.taobao.com) is probably the most well known of all the Chinese online shopping options and a fantastic starting point for would be online shoppers. It is well worth a browse just to see the massives cope of online shopping available in China. Taobao is the daddy of online shopping platforms in China and the equivalent to www.ebay.com throughout the rest of the world. Taobao’s platform differs from Ebay in two distinct ways: Firstly, it focuses on being a collection of stores with customizable spaces. In turn, this creates the second difference, that being the shopping system in Taobao relies less upon auctions, it allows for more instantaneous communication and bargaining with vendors via ‘WangWang’, Taobao’s instant messaging platform.

Getting Started on Taobao

The most convenient way to make payments for online shopping in China is with an Ali pay account www.alipay.com. Although, it should be mentioned that certain online shopping service providers, such as a great many Taobao stores, give shoppers a ‘cash on delivery’ option when making a purchase. This is also a good way to safeguard against receiving goods being delivered that do not match their description.

It is also worth noting that you can purchase Bian Li Tongtop up cards from vendors that sell telephone cards, should you not want to go to the trouble of opening a bank account. This method is also a good option when a cash on delivery option is not available.

Getting the Goods – Shopping Online in China

I arrived on the online shopping scene rather late in the game, and I honestly had no idea what I was getting into. It was only once I’d heard my Chinese co-workers talking about their purchases around the watercooler, checking out clothing online, and receiving deliveries from the post man at their desk at work, that I decided I might like to try for myself. Online shopping has taken China by storm, and the most popular site is Taobao, which is like a Chinese version of eBay, although Amazon (in conjunction with the Chinese company Joyo) has a share of the market too. Taobao is to China what ebay was to America about 5 years ago, taking the country by storm, turning everyone and their dog into home-grown entrepreneurs, and providing a vast array of goods to people who would otherwise have no access to them.

And who is in more need of hard to find goods than expats in China? Expats frequently complain about China’s lack of English language books, good coffee, cheese, large sized clothing, and Western brand “stuff,” from toys to baby formula to laundry detergent. And delightfully, all of these are available to be purchased online, from your home, and will be delivered straight to your door, practically anywhere in the country. Putting it plainly, sites like Taobao are an expat’s lifesaver. But there’s just one catch –Taobao, and other China-based sites, are all in Chinese, no option for English.

Maybe you need taobao english site? For expats starved for a taste of home, online shopping can be a life saver, and once you get started, you won’t be able to stop. Luckily online shopping is often more affordable than trips to fancy expat grocery stores, or import bookshops. The clothing you buy online is cheaper than what you’d buy in a shop because the overhead is less. Online shopping is an affordable, convenient, even fun way to get your fix of the goods that you miss in your day to day life.

TIPS

How to Increase Your Social Media Click-Through Rates via Social Media Examiner

Most businesses make the same mistake in their social media updates: They don’t have a call to action that routes people back to their website. Remember to give fans a reason to click through. To get the most out of your efforts, look at which social updates, blog posts and advertising campaigns your prospective customers have responded well to in the past. Use your landing page to provide more information and another clear, strong call to action and the means to complete that action.

Since kids are less likely to distinguish between advertising and regular content, avoid sponsored ads in children’s publications and websites. Native ads work best when the content is consistent with a brand’s personality, as well as the publisher’s editorial mandate. Finally, provide an opportunity to participate and make customers feel empowered.

Applications produced should be automatically tested as part of a build automation process. All development staff should have received some secure application development security training. Check for security gaps by testing vulnerabilities. Utilize other testing techniques such as penetration testing, infrastructure tests, and risk reviews.

China credit rating agency in Europe

Italy's second largest city is to be home to the first European office of Dagong, the Chinese credit rating agency, which check chinese company credit. It is expected that the company's Milan office could get official approval to begin operations as early as next month (June). It is currently waiting on final authorisation from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU financial regulatory body.

Once operational, the Milan office will employ more than 40 analysts as a joint venture between Dagong Global and Mandarin Capital Partners, a Sino-Italian private equity fund. It will undertake rating activities for banks and corporate entities, while any sovereign state rating activity will be conducted by the company's head office in Beijing.

It is believed this Europe-based rival to Standard & Poor's, Moody's and Fitch Group (the three ratings agencies that together share 95% of the global market) is intended to boost Chinese investments in Europe by providing Mainland companies with clear indications of the value and rating of local industry prospects.

It is a timely launch, given that Chinese investors are currently switching away from sovereign state bond investments and considering the acquisition of both brands and local industries. A rating by a China-based agency could be a useful guide for Chinese investors looking to evaluate opportunities in the European market.

Milan decision surprises industry observers

The selection of Italy as Dagong's first European operation – with more apparently planned in the coming years – has caused raised eyebrows among the EU business community. Despite retaining something of an industrial base, the country is not seen as one of the main European hubs for financial services.

The Italian press has carried some concerns that the arrival of this Chinese newcomer reflects expectations that a number of local businesses, weakened by the prevailing European financial conditions, could be ripe to be acquired at knockdown rates. Some have even suggested the agency could be instrumental in artificially lowering the value of companies in order for purchasers to secure a better deal. Others, however, maintain that the arrival of a Chinese ratings agency is inevitable given the level of the country's acquisitions in Europe.

Things You Should Know About Chinese Shopping

I like shopping. And something happens when I go to China. Something in the air — either the around-the-clock manufacturing or the settling dust of a run-away economy – turns me into a rabid consumer.

Cute eyeglass frames for $15 USD each. Wooden buttons shaped like elephants. Ceramic buttons painted like porcelain. Tibetan prayer bowls. Cellphone covers for every day of the week.

Some may ask whether I actually needed the same linen balloon pants in three different earth-tone colors.

Honestly? I really did. Because I was on my China shopping spree.

China isn’t simply about the Great Wall or 5,000 years of history. With its economic development, China has become a major shopping destination with its own unique flair.

The Guomao district in Beijing, home of the China World Shopping Mall, features such storefronts as Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and Prada.

For me, however, these sterile fluorescent halls with their white mannequins have never held quite as much appeal as China’s other shopping venues.

Packed antique stalls, bustling night markets, and shopping centers divided into booths of different vendors with the same merchandise. That's what I'm here for.

For those inadequately prepared, however, shopping in China can be a complete nightmare. There are certain things you'll have to know to survive your first few shopping experiences.

1.  Sometimes people will follow you

I was seven years old on my first trip to China when this happened to me. A salesperson trying to convince my mother that I needed a pair of khaki pants followed us for several hundred feet.

Depending on where you are, sales associates will be terrifyingly tenacious when dealing with weak-willed customers.

You'll need to be equally tenacious when you're bargaining to get a good deal.

3. It's easy to get exactly what you want

One of the best things about shopping in China is getting your purchases customized.

Jewelry stores often display strings of beads that can be bought and transformed into whatever shapes and patterns you please.

Fabrics of your choice can be brought to a tailor, along with a pattern, photo, or sample of what you want made.

Friends of mine have purchased silk-lined suits, cloth cargo shorts, and even a wedding dress custom-made this way.By the way ,you can get taobao chinese traditional jacket online, such as taobao and agreetao.

6. Vendors expect you to bargain

Modern shopping malls generally have set prices that can’t be negotiated, but vendors at night markets, antique stalls, or personal booths at other shopping centers usually expect customers to question their prices.

But bargaining and haggling isn’t just procedure. It’s an artform. You can see how real Chinese people bargain in a Yoyo Chinese premium video and learn a few phrases to get a good deal.

I've listed a few phrases below this video, too, so you'll have more to work with!

Hoverboard Takes You on a Brilliant Ride

Thanks to the new-age scooters and skateboards, personal transportation doesn’t look or sound that old-school anymore. Urban travelers can now enjoy their everyday journey to work in a more sophisticated way. From smart bike wheels to unicycle electric scooters, I feel we are on the verge of a major transportation shift. Only this time, the mode of travel seems to take us on a ride to the future. Ideas that were confined to the TV screen till date are now being applied in our day to day lifestyle which is great for people like you and me who don’t prefer riding the public transports all the time. If you consider me, I would do anything to get rid of a subway or a bus ride. Riding on a skateboard or a unicycle sounds more “free” to me. Even better than a car drive at times when I am willing to go for a weekend joy ride!

This is exactly why when I first came across the Hover board on Kickstarter, I couldn’t stop looking at the campaign twice. The reason is obvious – It’s not just an electric vehicle; it’s the closest thing on earth you can compare to an actual Hoverboard!

Personal Electric Mobility Evolved!

Now, if you’ve been following the latest innovations we have had in technology, hoverboards aren’t a new concept. But giving a real shape to such a sci-fi concept cannot happen in a day. You need time to evolve and the team behind Hoverboard is undoubtedly trying to make their way towards that spectacular innovation, one day at a time.

This is a one-wheeled, gyro-stabilized personal electric vehicle which has just one mode of contact with the ground and will make you feel like you’re hovering on the streets every time you decide to take your ride on it. Only six people on earth have had their exposure to this Hoverboard and now it’s your turn to try it out.

What I love about the Hoverboard is the ground sensing sonar which keeps the board parallel to the ground. Not only this, your glowing Hoverboard can charge itself in less than 16 minutes. Starting from a pre-order price of $3775, it’s time you book your Hoverboard ride now! Happy Gadgeting!

Advantages of using an electric scooter

This article provides information about mobility scooters, and the health benefits they can provide. By getting an electric scooter, you can open many doors that have been previously closed, perhaps because of a disability or illness - such as going shopping, going out for the day, going for a "walk" with the children or grandchildren. Anyone who struggles to walk or gets tired after walking a short distance could benefit from using a mobility scooter. Using an electric scooter is not an admission of defeat and can make a great deal of difference to your quality of life, and can even provide a new lease of life and a new found independence.

If you are thinking about getting a mobility scooter, it is probably past time to do it. However, the sooner you start using an electric scooter, the longer you might retain the ability to walk.

A disabled scooter can give you more energy because you won't be using all your energy in trying to walk, or push a traditional wheelchair. Using an electric scooter will help to relieve the strain on shoulder muscles and wrist and elbow joints that are used when pushing yourself in a self propelled wheelchair or someone else in a traditional transit wheelchair. An electric scooter can help to provide you with the freedom to go where ever you want, whenever you want. Some models are capable of travelling up to 35 miles between charges, so the distance you can cover is much greater than in a traditional wheelchair.

A large number of supermarkets and DIY stores as well as other shops offer customers the use of a mobility scooter whilst shopping. If you are not sure if you would benefit from one, why not try one and see if it makes shopping any easier. Some places such as large shopping centres or town centres offer Shopmobility, which is a scheme that lends or hires mobility equipment based on the user's requirements, and then provides brief training on using the equipment. If you go on holiday why not arrange to hire a mobility scooter instead of taking your wheelchair, and see if it makes a difference.

By getting an electric scooter, you can open many doors that have been previously closed, perhaps because of a disability or illness - such as going shopping, going out for the day, going for a "walk" with the children or grandchildren. You can go up and down steep hills in comfort and without fear of rolling down the hill, and without being worn out for days afterwards. You can visit friends and relatives at your convenience, without needing to rely on public transport. Most mobility scooters have a key to start them, and so if the key is removed the scooter cannot be driven. This means that the scooter can be left outside a shop, for example, and it can be "locked" like a car.

If you think that you, a friend or relative could benefit from a mobility scooter or a powerchair, why not try some and find one that you like. If you know somebody with a mobility scooter, ask them about it, and what improvements it has brought them. Mobility scooters can mean the difference between managing to live at home independently, and having to rely on others.

Looking for taobao agent?

Chinese Taobao is one of the world's largest e-commerce websites, a combination of eBay and Amazon, only bigger. With more than 800 million items listed, you can find almost anything offered for sale.

For the Shunyi expat community, it’s even more convenient because Ruan works at one of the International Schools, which makes paying in cash incredibly easy. Their ten percent fee is very reasonable, if you consider how much time you will save, and using a personal shopper takes the hassle out of the whole process. So maybe it’s time to give your bilingual friends a break, and enlist the help of an agent instead.

If you are unable to read Chinese, or do not have the time or patience to trawl through hundreds of pages of items, then it’s time you got a Taobao agent. Agents, or personal shoppers, will do your shopping for you. They do the searching, buy the items, and have them delivered either to their own warehouse, and then ship them out to you, or will arrange delivery direct to your home.

In need of a fancy dress outfit for a friend’s Birthday Party, I did an initial search on Taobao, so that I had a few links and pictures of what I wanted. I then emailed these links to TaobaoPlus10 personal shopper, Andrew Ruan, who helps simplifying the whole Taobao shopping experience for expats in China.

“As vendors from all over China put their stuff for sale on Taobao, we can find almost anything. My customers only need to send me an email of what they need (description, a web-link, a picture, a brand), then I will get back to them with the links for those items available,” explains Ruan.

Once you receive the list of matching products, simply select the item you want, send your personal shopper the payment (cash, PayPal or bank transfer), and they will order the product for you. Items will be delivered to your home, and if you need something urgently, they will pay the seller on your behalf, and then you reimburse TaobaoPlus10. If there are any problems with the order, they will help you resolve the issue. Ruan’s recent orders have included Huggies diapers, Crayola coloring pens and pencils, gluten free pizza base, and Vogmasks.

The all Electric Hovering self balance scooter

Segway is fun, more and more people choosed a segway for their daily life. A new site can be seen in towns and cities all over the world at the moment in the form of small electric scooters being used as personal transportation devices. People are finding that a balance scooter in the perfect way to get around quickly and easily.

The new electric scooters have a unique, new and small design which means they can 'hover' a person along a pavement, down a road or path and work both indoors and outdoors.

The electric scooter fad has become apparent after a number of celebrities and online bloggers and youtube stars began using the escooters to get around. Unlike other scooters they do not have handlebars and rely on the balance and ingenuity of the person riding the escooter.

An electronic gyroscope inside the scooter means it will balance automatically whenever a person places two feet on it. Unlike previous similar transportation devices like the Segway, Unicycles, Push scooters an electronic self balancing scooter only requires you to tilt your feet and body in the direction you wish to travel. The pivoting self balancing electric scooter

can then work out which direction you wish to go and send you in that direction using built in motors connected to each wheel.

The battery life of an self balancing electric scooter is outstanding allow somebody to travel around 22KM without needing a recharge. The electronic scooter we tested was certified for use in wet weather. Every 2 wheel self balancing scooter is strongly deisigned and constructed meaning in can withstand the bumps and knocks of travelling around a busy town or city.

If you don't want to spend each day on a self balancing unicycle then battery powered motorized scooters look like the perfect way to get around.

Easier to Make Chinese Company Check

Credit checks of Chinese companies have been made significantly easier with an online National Chinese Company Credit Information database providing free information about Chinese domestic companies to the public.

China's State Administration of Industry and Commerce has launched the National Company Credit Information System which is an online resource that provides free information about companies to the public. This followed the Provisional Rules on Enterprise Information Disclosure act which took effect on October 1 last year. The new disclosure act require all companies, foreign and domestic in the PRC to submit annual credit reports for public disclosure via the publicly available Enterprise Credit and Information Disclosure System which can be accessed online on a real-time basis. With the new online database, anyone can simply log in and access relevant financial, asset and legal liabilities information – greatly improving financial transparency among businesses in China.

- This is good news for anyone evaluating suppliers and potential business partners in China, says Per Linden, CEO of the consulting firm Scandic Sourcing. One year ago, credit disclosure companies stopped getting access to tax reports, which made it difficult to make credit checks of Chinese companies. To get accurate info, we had to ask the companies themselves to disclose their annual audit reports, which they may or may not do. Now, the publicly available Credit and Information Disclosure System circumvents all that, and I think this is a big step towards simplifying credit checks in China.

Screenshots from the search function of the new online resource for credit disclosure which Chinese companies (and any other company operating in China) are expected to submit their financial information to.

The information companies are required to provide includes corporate registration data, record filing, chattel equity pledge registration, mortgage registration, and notably administrative penalties levied by the Chinese Administration of Industry and Commerce. Look for the latter when evaluating a potential partner or supplier; it's an important indicator of a company's creditworthiness and integrity that used to be confidential. The companies themselves are responsible for the authenticity and legality of the information they disclose and spot checks on the disclosed information will be conducted; third parties may report any information they suspect is false.

Companies that fail to submit their reports in time will be recorded in the directory of companies with abnormal business operations and if the company fail to fulfill their disclosure obligations within three years, they will be recorded in the directory of companies with serious illegal conduct, and their legal representative or person-in-charge will be prohibited from becoming a legal representative or person-in-charge of any other company for three years.

'Game of Thrones' season 2 finale

The "Game of Thrones" season two finale begins the way "Lost" began -- and ended, for that matter -- with an eyeball, real close up, looking around.

Except here, we see reflected in the eye what it's looking at. First fire. Then cloaked figures. And then....Maester Pycelle! He's like a bad penny, that one, he keeps turning up.

It's Tyrion's eye. He gets one good look at Pycelle and roars for his squire Poddrick, who comes running into the dingy little chamber where Tyrion is lying, his face all bandaged up, mummy style.

"Find Bronn or Varys. Tell them I am here with Maester Pycelle. Tell them I am very much alive!" he says.Paintings for sale shortwigs buy paintings original painting art.

Yay! See -- I told you they couldn't kill Tyrion!

Maester Pycelle, oozing smug, explains that Stannis was defeated by Tywin Lannister, and that these dingy little rooms are Tyrion's new chambers. "A little cramped, perhaps, but you don't need much room, do you?" he snorts. He's enjoying this way too much.

Oh, and Tyrion isn't hand of the king anymore.

Pycelle flips a coin onto Tyrion's bed. "For your trouble,as the third generation of Air Max and Nike air max 90 marcjacobsshoes is one of classic Nike shoes shoe." he snarks. (Which is, of course, what Tyrion said/did to the whore who sold out Pycelle to Tyrion a few episodes back.)

Cut to the stones of the throne room, where a heaping pile of horse poo goes splat on the stones -- just as Tywin Lannister rides his great white charger into the room and in front of King Joffrey. (Query: How do you get a horse to do that on cue?) Tywin, of course, can ride a horse down the stairs as easily as he appears able to do anything else. Joffrey declares him the saviour of the city, and the Hand of the King.

Tywin takes the hand pin from a page, nods his head in thanks and rides right out again. Tywin,What to consider before you buy gemstonebeads. you have to hand it to him,Whether you going to practice and need athletic shoes and a sport bag or just lounging at the house benebags and PUMA clothing have got you covered. is cool.

Next up: Baelish. In exchange for saving Joffrey's hide by roping in the Tyrells, he gets Harrenhal, "and all its attendant lands and incomes, to be held by your sons and grandsons until the end of time."

Baelish grins and says he must acquire some sons and grandsons. Applause all around from the court. What is a real bargain? The answer is where to find puma christianlouboutinboots00 2011.

And finally, we get a pretty little pageant: Joffrey calls Ser Loras forward and says that he can ask anything of the king for his assistance in battle. Loras asks Joffrey to marry his sister, Margaery, still an "innocent" despite her marriage to Renly -- and who's conveniently standing right there in a dress she magically borrowed from J. Lo, pop-up breasts, exposed navel and all. Who know they had double-sided tape back in Ye Olde Day?

Church provides Southmont students with shoes for recreation

xStudents at Southmont Elementary School will be able to participate in physical activities after 135 pairs of shoes were donated by Macedonia United Methodist Church.

"Once again, the Southmont community awed me with their support and unconditional love.Title: stainlesssteelwatches of purpl Irises by Rose Rosen Style. I cherish the relationship we have with the community businesses and churches as well as the many volunteers who give endlessly for our students."

Florette Melton, outreach director for the church, said the idea for donating the shoes came from Southmont's assistant principal, Kathy Elmore. After the committee collected T-shirts, socks and underwear in March to give to the students, Elmore explained a lot of students needed athletic shoes, Melton said.

She was told some students at the school were unable to participate in physical activities because they didn't have tennis shoes,As it's called ladiesshoes, which is one of the classical style of nike lineup. and there were also students whose shoes were too small or just worn out. Melton thought it was important for all students to be able to be healthy by doing exercise.

"How can a student participate if they don't have on tennis shoes," she asked. "We didn't want students to feel excluded."

Overall, 17 civilians have gone to prison so far on Zhanaozen-related charges. In late May, a different trial resulted in the jailing of four individuals from Shetpe, where a demonstrator was shot dead after violence spread from Zhanaozen. Six of the 11 people on trial in that case were given prison terms but immediately amnestied and released; another got a suspended sentence.

In addition, six members of the security forces were imprisoned last month over the violence. Five received jail terms of between five and seven years on abuse of office charges and the former head of Zhanaozen’s remand center got a five-year prison sentence over the death of a detainee following a beating in police custody. Those who inflicted the injuries were never identified.

Like the demonstrators on trial, police officers who went on trial for their actions in Zhanaozen complain that they are scapegoats. The retailer stores have authenticlouisvuittonshoes an overwhelming response coming straight. Law-enforcement officials have always insisted that they fired live rounds in Zhanaozen in self-defense and that the deaths and injuries were caused by ricocheting bullets.Do you really need that replicawatches you haven't worn in years, I mean who wants to dress like Ronnie from the Jersey Shore? Those assertions have been undermined by video posted on YouTube, which depicts members of the security forces shooting fleeing demonstrators in the back and beating the fallen. At least 16 demonstrators died and 64 were wounded; 35 members of the security forces also sustained injuries.

The Zhanaozen violence also sparked corruption trials amid allegations by officials that widespread graft played a role stirring up discontent in the economically depressed town. Three former oil company executives received prison terms in May of seven to eight years, and former Zhanaozen mayor Orak Sarbopeyev is to be sentenced on June 5 on embezzlement charges. Prosecutors are seeking a 13-year jail term.

Defining Danica

DANICA PATRICK SHAKES HANDS like a man. It is a wince- inducing, finger-crushing, are-you-seriously-not-a-Marine kind of shake. "Hi [crunch], I'm Danica." Coming from someone who is 5-foot-2, 109 pounds and looks like a brunette Barbie doll, it's kind of like shaking hands with a lightning bolt. It makes you (okay, me) jump back a bit and go, "Ow! F--!," which is the point. There should be no surprise here. The woman drives race cars for a living; of course she has grip.

"So I don't always like to talk about racing," Danica says. This is honestly the second thing she says,Wearing shoespumps is an experience in fashion fun. Everyone will comment on your effortlessly hip Hardy shirt. right after hello. It is a warm spring night in Chicago, and Danica, who will be making her first NASCAR start at Talladega in a few days (where she'll finish 13th), is hoping for something "different," as she says. "It's much easier if we don't have to talk about the stuff I have to talk about every single weekend for, like, three days straight.Show off your christianlouboutinboots favorite photos."

Danica has arrived with her husband, Paul Hospenthal, and her publicist, Haley Moore, at Graham Elliot -- a "bistronomic" restaurant in Chicago's Near North neighborhood. Restaurants, Danica says, are neutral ground for an interview. Her Scottsdale, Ariz., home -- a sand-color six-bedroom, eight-bath, 7,531-square-foot colossus, which reportedly has a wine cellar, movie theater, gymnasium, pool, guest cottage and seven-car garage -- is not. "I've read stories that are set in a celebrity's house, and you know where it is and what it looks like and what's inside it," she says, "and that's not something I want anyone to know." She shoots Haley a look that says, Protect the brand.

Okay, then, I guess we'll talk about food. Danica, who is seriously one of the smallest human beings I have ever met, adores food -- notably tiny portions of food on tiny tasting plates, which as a tiny person is her favorite way to eat. She once had something like 21 (or was it 22?) courses at the Napa Valley foodie mecca French Laundry, whose East Coast sister, Per Se, is probably the only Michelin-ranked American restaurant where Danica has wanted to go but failed to get a table.distributing pressure, authenticguccishoes provides the ultimate in impact protection reducing shock "It was two years ago, the end of the season, and it was for our anniversary," she says.

"And I couldn't get you in," says Haley, who I can tell is still kind of chagrined, even though getting into Per Se is about as hard as getting into, well, French Laundry, actually. "I really wanted to go there," Danica says, smiling at Haley, "but it was last minute.Aluminum hublotwatch is from China factory."

Danica had no problem securing a last-minute reservation at Graham Elliot. She is friends with the owner as well as the sommelier, a dandyish guy named Rob, who comes to our table to inquire after our needs. "I say just bring us stuff," Danica says. Rob suggests the spring tasting menu with appropriate wine pairings. "This will be fun," Danica says.

She rarely gets to do this kind of thing in season, during which she travels nearly every week, often several times a week.Yesterday marked one of the most iconic wedgeshoes releases. She says that in the past week she was in Charlotte, Nashville, then Charlotte again, Richmond and Chicago, where she spent the weekend before leaving for Nashville again, then Miami and finally returning to Chicago last night. She "slept in" until 8 a.m., at which point she awoke to prepare for a multihour photo shoot at the Chicagoland Speedway, which she managed down to the last detail.

Who are Chicago's most marketable athletes?

One thing is clear: The current crop of Windy City jocks doesn't even crack the top 30 national Q-score list, the industry standard for measuring consumer appeal.More and more people wear shippingshoes when they take exercise, because this pair of shoe has a positive effect on the entire body.

But at the local level, the best metric may be the Nielsen Co.'s "N-score." It's based on a survey of around 700 local households that rates athletes by their "endorsement potential" including how they feel about them and what words they would use to describe them and produces a list that looks like this:
That's five Bears,Back again is the shoesale SI in a White/Royal colorway.A food and swisswatches bank has been set up for residents affected by Saturdays storms in Snow Hill. two Bulls, two Blackhawks and Paul Konerko. No Cubs. (The highest-ranking Cub is Ryan Dempster, with an N-score of 40. That's good for 17th place, just behind Lance Briggs.)

And, like any good sports list, this one is chock-full of eyebrow raisers:

Following Jay Cutler's departure from Twitter last month,Sells cheapshox in a Broad Selection from current season. only five of the top 10 (and one of the top three) have active Twitter accounts (Rose, Toews, Konerko and Peppers also do not). So much for the importance of managing your online brand.

Of those who are on Twitter, Devin Hester has the most followers (around 191,000).

Further evidence of the Chicago hockey renaissance. There are two Blackhawks in the top 10, and four in the top 15 (Patrick Sharp is 11th, Marian Hossa ranks 14th). As Nielsen VP-Sports Stephen Master put it, "10 years ago, there might not have been any Blackhawks players in the top 50."

Nearly 25 percent of respondents "dislike" or "somewhat dislike" Jay Cutler, and 21 percent feel that way about A.J.China quinceaneradress catalog. Pierzynski.

But there's one thing about this list that sticks out the most: It's virtually void of show-boating, flashy, big-time egos (with the possible exception of Patrick Kane's off-the-ice exploits).

Instead, these guys reflect the mentality of the city they represent — hard-working-no-glam-let-your-game-do-the-talking types.

There's the reticent Derrick Rose, the quietly consistent Paul Konerko and Mr. Lead-By-Example Jonathan Toews.

Two of the players, Cutler and Hester, have even sworn off endorsements entirely (for different reasons).

There's a pervasive blue collar mentality.

Proper Footwear Can Help Summer Athletes Avoid Back Pai

Belltown Spine and Wellness chiropractic center advises seasonal recreational enthusiasts on the importance of selecting the proper footwear. By focusing on three basic characteristics,if you like buychristianlouboutin, please search online for a cheaper price. participants can find athletic shoes that can help to avoid back and neck issues.

The beautiful summer weather signals an increase in physical activity for many people who have hidden indoors throughout the rainy winter months. With great exuberance, many forget that selecting the proper footwear can make the difference in a fun and rewarding season of summer athletics. Belltown Spine and Wellness, Seattle chiropractor and rehabilitation specialists, recommend taking some time in selecting the appropriate footwear for the specific activity you are engaging in.

The importance of utilizing the proper footwear is a key component to keeping safe while enjoying athletic activities. With experience in a wide variety of back pain Seattle issues, Belltown has taken no small notice that many problems start from the ground up.The retailer stores have authenticlouisvuittonshoes an overwhelming response coming straight. By paying attention to these three basic characteristics of all footwear, selecting the appropriate shoes should be a breeze. Remember not to focus on cost, but on the specific qualities your sport requires from your footwear. The watches consists of eight smaller individual cubes.

Many back pain problems start from some kind of compression of the vertebrae. Without the proper amount of cushion in the heel, the repetitive pounding that results from walking or running can have a ruinous effect on back health over time.Canvas wall art, bestiwcwatches for sale. Take the time to evaluate how much cushioning your particular style requires by paying close attention to soreness that you experience. Some believe that too much cushion can promote improper technique, so a middle ground must be sought.

Be Supportive
The proper amount of arch support and lateral stability in footwear is very specific to the activity. It has been quite a while that we had seen some christianlouboutinshoes coming straight. Tennis and basketball are very demanding when it comes to side to side motion. Therefore, a more stable upper, supported by a flatter sole is important. Those same shoes would be terrible to run any distance in since they will be heavy, while lacking high enough arch support. Basically, it is a give and take between lateral stability and lightweight flexibility. Get to know your game.

Stay on Your Feet
Perhaps, the most important factor for staying away from season ending back pain is determining how much traction you require from your footwear. Falling unexpectedly causes many injuries, but can be greatly reduced by understanding how the surface you are playing on reacts to the body mechanics involved. Soccer and softball cleats can stop inadvertent sliding while trying to generate the torque required to propel a ball. Grass, dirt and turf all have different grip, so shoes should be selected accordingly. Soft spike golf shoes can be a little stiffer to walk in, especially if you insist on carrying clubs on you back, but can help to avoid slipping while generating power, especially on sand or other uneven surfaces.

Live Chat: The Classic is more than a race

Hello folks, my name is Kevin Gleason, sports columnist with the Times Herald-Record. I'm here with Frank Giannino, one of the race directors for The Classic 10K/5K on Sunday in Middletown.

Please feel free to toss him any questions on the race,it is completely your wish to either guccishoe the latest collection, on running in general or even if you want to pick his brain on the two cross country runs he made in 1979 and 1980.Examine our Boat and Ship cartierreplicawatches here. That's right -- across the country, 3,000 miles.

I'm going to kick it off with a few questions about Sunday's race. Frank,What are the best road bike airforceone? how has the interest been and how are the numbers as we approach mid-week?

Frank: The numbers are totaling 800 so far, which puts us ahead of last year's pace at this time. Interest has been very good. The goal is to involve more and more community, from fans who come out and stay on the sideline and mingle with neighbors, to volunteers who take part in the event.

Tell me about the new Fan Zones this year?

Frank: The Fan Zones are on five locations: on East Main Street (Fan Zone 1), which is being led by the mayor. The second one is by Toni DePasquale, which is on the entrance to Davidge Park by Turfler Field. She is btoday shopforshoes for sale to men with low price and top quality.ringing her bagpipe quartet. The third Fan Zone is at the intersection of Roosevelt and Rockwell, at the home of Fred Isseks, a former longtime Middletown teacher.

What else is involved in the Fan Zones?

Frank: Each of the five Fan Zones will be judged at the awards ceremony, by the applause of folks at the ceremony. The other Fan Zones are at ProBuild on Wisner Avenue, which will include a car club. Mike Belfiore, who is part of a car club, is running for a cause. You can learn more about it at classic10k
You have an up-to-the-minute entry total, I see,in beadsturquoise tube cutting and forming. by the text you just received.

Frank: Yes, we are at 800, which is a very good number on Wednesday morning. Last year we had 353 finish the 5K and 911 finish the 10K. Usually about 10 percent of the field doesn't show up. So we had about 1,400 entries last year. I'm confident we will do at least that this year. A lot of people come at the end. We can still have another 250 people on race morning.

One of the most important factors is weather. How does it look?

Frank: It says 69 and 70 both Saturday and Sunday.

Tell me about the Junior Classic, the kids' races.

Frank: The Junior Classic (on Saturday) usually has about 350 kids. This year we have a perfect opportunity to advertise because they are having a field day on Friday at the high school. Ages are 5-12 for the kids' races, up to 5-14 technically.

Where are you at with the vendors?

Frank: We have over 30 vendors. They come in all forms, from businesses to non-profits. Everyone loves the booths because there is a lot of interaction. We hear a lot of good things from vendors and the people at the race each year.

I know one of the more popular facets of the race is the terrific food. Tell me about that.

Frank: Nick Amendola, owner of the Bada Bing restaurants in Otisville and Middletown, is donating the food for the seventh straight year. It's not your average race-day food. It's an actual dinner with different kinds of pastas and other courses. It's a big hit every year.

One of the highlights of this race, and one of the things that make it stand out from most of the rest, is the elite field. Is the typically talented world-class field going to be a part of the event again?

Modern Manners

My company is having a recognition ceremony and dinner. I have been nominated for two awards. All of the directors and managers (not me) will be in the annual business meeting all day and then head straight over to the dinner/recognition ceremony (which is the part I've been invited to). It's late June on a Tuesday in a run of the mill banquet hall. Cocktails at 5, dinner at 6, ceremony at 8.

I work in an office at our manufacturing facility and we're limited to slacks and company polo shirts while working so no one from work has ever seen me dressed up, though I am comfortable in a dress or skirt. I don't know how dressy to get. About 50% of people at the ceremony will be coming straight from the business meeting and I assume they will be in business attire. So, do I wear business clothes, a formal evening dress, or somewhere in between? Thanks! Annie, Taunton

Dear Annie,
What does the dress code on the invitation say? If it doesn't specify a dress code such as Black Tie or Formal Attire, you can assume the dress code is Suits & Dresses. Then consider that you want to look the part of the professional level you aspire to heading for. Since you're on your way with these two awards, dress up. I don't mean dress dressy, I mean find yourself a knee-length, lightweight skirt-suit to wear with beautiful shoes. The height of the heel would depend upon your own height since men don't like being over-towered; you'll have to be the judge of that. They are testing you to figure out how you would project the image of the company should they promote you to a job where you would be going out into the industrial world representing them.Go ahead to find your favorite shoxshoes in our online store. Believe me, that so, it will be a good investment because you'll also be able to wear the skirt-suit to weddings, funerals, as well as job to interviews—should you start looking elsewhere for a better opportunity. Once again, dress according to the position you might be offered next and want to accept. ~Didi

Dear Didi,

I have always read that weddings held after six in the evening are considered formal. Does that include a wedding held at six o'clock on the dot? Growing up, I was always told that ladies should wear long dresses for any wedding held in the evening. However, I have been to many weddings recently, which have started at six or later in the evening: there only the members of the wedding party plus the mothers and grandmothers of the bride and groom were wearing long dresses. As a female guest, what should one be expected to wear? Also, is black tie obligatory for evening weddings or are dark suits acceptable? I have seen a lot of dark suits at nighttime weddings recently. A.T., Boston

Dear A.T.,
When the wedding invitation doesn't specify Black Tie or Formal Attire, the invited guest assumes the dress code is Suits & Dresses. Generally, the later in the day, the more formal the wedding. Black Tie weddings usually don't start before six o'clock, but a six o'clock wedding isn't necessarily Black Tie.

It used to be that often for an afternoon church wedding, guests would change for dinner, meaning for the reception dinner dance at seven-thirty. In that instance,What to consider before you buy gemstonebeads. a champagne and cake reception following the church wedding would be offered to all the wedding ceremony guests and later in the evening the dinner dance would be for family and friends. Former colleagues, coworkers, secretaries, staff, children, etc. would not be included at the dinner dance.

Nowadays, most weddings ceremonies are held at either five or six o'clock, immediately followed by a reception with a cocktail hour and then a buffet or seated dinner with dancing. When the wedding begins at five, then Suits & Dresses are the acceptable dress code. For a six o'clock wedding, the men wear either their best business suit or formal attire and women have the option of wearing either a dressy cocktail dress, dressy knee-length dinner suit,Stylish and popular discount airmax2009 Accessories on sale here now. or a long dress. For a formal seven-thirty seated dinner dance, the dress code would be tuxedos or dinner jackets and evening dresses,Running Shoe, highheelshoes and Flex grooves in the mid and outsole for flexibility . which are dressier than a long dress but not as dressy as a ballgown.

You are correct in assuming that a lot of women wear dressy short dresses,When your team gets ready for battle with the opposition, be ready with this niketn. usually monochromatic (just one color), instead of evening gowns. The LBD (little black dress) is especially popular for weddings that start from five o'clock on.

It's a funny thing about dress codes. Most men like having a specific dress code and most women don't, which is why the dress code Suits & Dresses works well for most weddings. The invitation may not state Black Tie, but that doesn't mean that men aren't going to wear their best dark business suit, with a white-collared shirt, tie, and black shoes. ~Didi

Not Even Kim Kardashian?

Kylie Jenner may have not had the Keeping up with the Kardashians group around her at a recent Beverly Hills birthday party, as sisters Kourtney, Khloe and Kim Kardashian were missing in action (even Kendall Jenner seemed to have sat this one out—or wasn't invited!),Custom replicaomega from photos by our painting. but the bash was still ironically rooted in "reality"—of the Real Housewives sort, that is. (But don't worry, this time it was all G-rated.) Plus, Kylie had her rumored boyfriend, the adorable blond, Australian pop star, Cody Simpson, there to keep her company.

She may be a blossoming model, a TV star and now a Seventeen magazine West Coast contributor, but Kylie is, perhaps above all else, still just a 14-year-old girl. Real men (or boys) can wear floral!

The Kardashian "klan" and their E! cameras may have been out of the picture at this little shindig, but ironically it wasn't far from another network's reality world. Mischa Barton steps out with John Guidetti on red carpet

London, May 28 (ANI): Mischa Barton, who is a television and movie star as well as fashion icon, seems to be adding WAG to her list after stepping out with Manchester City soccer player John Guidetti.

The 26-year-old actress made a public appearance with him on Saturday at Lindsay's Pre-party in Stockholm.

She looked in good spirits as she showed off her new arm candy on the red carpet at Cafe Opera in the Swedish capital.

The screen starlet donned pink flowing asymmetric gown to the event, with a short sleeve cut on one arm while the material was pinched in at the waist on the same side.

Meanwhile the fabric reached down to her elbow and got long at the bottom on the right side of her body, created a gathered effect from an angle.

The pair attended an Ozzy Osbourne concert this week and went enjoy some racetrack driving outside of the capital city the following day.

Baggy trousers and comfort food

She is usually seen in a tight gown to complement her curvaceous figure.

But it seems that even Jennifer Love Hewitt has dress down days where she throws on her scruffy clothes.

Jennifer had told her Twitter followers she was feeling down, so the tasty snack could well have been an attempt to cheer herself up.

The actress had tweeted: 'i am down. Really hurt by all the people who judge me, write mean things, rumors etc. it's so hurtful. Its hard to keep your head up.'
