Aiken's own 'Dancing' getting closer

"Step right, step left, tap left, slide and slide, turn once, hats off, bow. OK, everyone from the beginning and remember - smile!"

These are the sounds from the rehearsals of the benefit "Dancing with the Aiken Stars Movers and Shakers Gala," scheduled at St. Angela's Hall on Thursday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.

The seven couples, many of them starting out as acquaintances, have now become fast friends. Joining them in the competition for votes are the self-named Divas, an energetic group of nine women and the lively and rambunctious Seven Men at Work.

Practicing in garages, dance studios and homes,ceiling fluorescent light 5224 results like the Lithonia Crown. these amateur "stars" are promising a night of entertainment, competition and excitement.

As the rehearsals become more intense and the "I get it" moment arrives, the banter becomes, "We are in it to win it!"

Those who will win are actually the children of Aiken and Edgefield counties.

Voting for the dancers has begun online at aikensymphonyguild.org or through mailing a check to The Aiken Symphony Guild, P.O. Box 2801, Aiken 29802.

For $10 per vote, people can pick their favorite dancers.

There are still seats available for the event.
