Jim Johnson's shoes have been hard to fill

It was only fitting that the Eagles inducted former defensive coordinator Jim Johnson into the team's Honor Roll on Sunday night.

Johnson, who died in the summer of 2009 from melanoma, probably wouldn't recognize this defense the Eagles have put out under coordinator Juan Castillo, who was the offensive line coach while Johnson was running the defense.

But he would certainly approve after the Eagles shut down the Cowboys in their 34-7 win Sunday night.

Johnson was known as a tinkerer, a mad scientist of sorts, so he would love anything that works.

It might have taken awhile,Find an manoloblahnikstore in your team colors or from your favorite soccer teams that wear the Adidas brand. but it seems like Castillo's defense is starting to work.

“I just wish it wouldn't have taken this long,” said defensive end Jason Babin, who had two sacks and has nine for the season. “But it did take us longer, and now we're headed in the right direction.”

There are few blitzes in Castillo's scheme, which features the wide-nine formation that relies on the defensive linemen to get pressure on the quarterback.

But the Eagles had other issues, such as finding a way to use three elite cornerbacks when there are really only spots for two of them.

All of this took time, which was exposed during the Eagles' 2-4 start,Represent manufacturers of simpleweddingdresses processing machinery. and Castillo bore the brunt of the criticism.you how to ladiesshoes and enjoy a better health.

So Castillo was asked if he feels any vindication following two strong games from the defense, when they allowed a total of 127 yards rushing and 20 points.

“Not really,When CD shopforshoes first came out.” he said. “It's just one game.”

This is not to say that Johnson could have done much better with this defense, with all of the personnel changes during an offseason that was devoid of minicamps and organized team activities because of the lockout.

Castillo needed time, and his inexperience on defense only made it tougher.
