A salute to the people who keep things running

April 27 was a special day around America as administrative assistants, secretaries, and other professionals were honored on Administrative Professionals Day.

Here in the Coastal Bend, a couple of organizations had special luncheons to celebrate the day with all of the hardworking ladies and gentleman without whom many a local company would be lost.White cheapshox with Brown Dot Shade.

I was privileged to spend the day at one such luncheon, the Volunteer Services Council of the State Supported Living Center's Professional's Woman's Style Show at the Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz International Center.

The event was a fundraiser for the center,For more detailed search information about wholesaletruereligiontypepad , which provides around-the-clock care and services for 276 people with developmental disabilities and serves 21 South Texas counties.

This was a fantastic way for local businesses to honor their administrative staff as well as to celebrate the folks who live and work at the State Supported Living Center.Choose Verified shoessuppliers sets Suppliers. Both local celebrities and residents from the center participated in the style show, and it was heartwarming and fun to watch them strut their stuff down the runway.

The show began with a huge "thank you" from Monica Euresti, the president of the Volunteer Services Council, and then Katia Uriarte and Chris Thomasson from KIII TV began introducing the models as they did the walk of fame.

The participants were local folks from around town, like Michelle Berry from the Port of Corpus Christi, Chris Parker from the Miracle League and the YMCA, and Ruben Bonilla from Farmer's Insurance Group. My favorites were the center residents who really had a great time working the runway.

Juan Sarli wore his Special Olympics medal with every outfit, and Susan Flato wore the biggest smile I've ever seen as she enjoyed her moment in the spotlight.

John-Thomas Kobos from KIII-TV and Sal Hernandez, who works for Nueces County, worked the crowd like pros from up on the stage in their outfits from William's Fashions and Shoes,Custom shopforshoes from photos by our painting. and volunteers Azucena Torres and Liz Gamez made their fashions from Shannon's look fantastic.

I especially loved some of the sundresses that I saw and made a vow to go get some fun summery dresses so I could look as cool and comfortable as they did. The Volunteer Services Council was well-represented in the show. Also, I caught board member Rose Guajardo-Mireles and members Ashley Cole, Bebe Flores, and Mary Golsberry- Cantu on stage.

The folks who really stole the show and had the whole crowd saying "awwwww" were the kids who participated in the show wearing styles from Belly, Baby, and Hopscotch.we know that coffee offenikeairmax97 is the world's most commonly traded commodity after crude oil.

Six-year-old Shabana Gonzales and 7-year-olds Claudia Holly and Karis Hand looked adorable as they did their best impression of models on stage at New York fashion week.

This event was a fun testament to the generosity and support that Coastal Bend businesses and citizens continue to show to those who are most in need in the community. Recession or no, Corpus Christi is happy to help places like the State Supported Living Center take care of their residents.
