Was it those bright orange shoes? Were the Deerfield defenders blinded by that foot wear as Ellis Matthews was dropping long 3-point shots over them?
Monday morning basketball seemed to agree with the Libertyville Wildcats boys basketball team. There's nothing like a little Manolo blahnik goodness in time for the holidays, you know what I'm saying?
A 21-4 third quarter rally accented Libertyville's performance in the opening round of play in the 33rd annual Wheeling Wildcat Hardwood Classic. Libertyville ran away from Deerfield 60-29.
Matthews,Wholesale coach handbags is an interesting one as well. who sat out the fourth quarter, nailed two 3-pointers in the third quarter and seemed to dance after those shots fell through the hoop.
"I was just getting our bench fired up,'' Matthews said. "We were just feeling good. It was a good team effort."
The junior offers no apologies for his loud shoes.
"I wear them every game,'' he said. "I like the orange and black."
Matthews led a balanced attack with 15 points. This was another game in which leading scorer Ryan Barth sat out with his leg injury. So how did the Wildcats manage a blowout without those missing 20 points a game?
"We really turned up the intensity in the second half,'' said Libertyville coach Scott Bogumil. "It was our unselfishness. We would make two or three passes to find the open shooter."
It wasn't always a blowout. As Nike air max tn, Nike Free Shoes was re-released in the early 2000s. Deerfield drove out of an early hole to knot the game up a 11-11 in the second quarter. That's when Matthews landed his first 3-pointer of the game and Libertyville (6-4) took the lead for good. Anthony Mack (8 points) went on personal six-point run to up the Wildcats lead to 20-12.
"Our guards controlled this game,'' Bogumil said.
The third quarter was simply a thing of beauty for Wildcats fans. Only two shots failed to go through the net. In addition to Matthews' heroics, Griffin Pils (10 points) had 7 of his points in the third quarter blitz.
"Griffin played all summer long,'' Bogumil said.
When Bogumil cleared his bench in the fourth quarter, Nick Christy stepped up with a pair of 3-poinopting for a newly engineered Air max 360 cushioning system.ters.
"He's a good spot-up shooter, marking some of the most interesting puma shoes on the market.'' Bogumil said.
With this win, Libertyville drew Loyola Academy on Tuesday. On Monday, Loyola edged Stevenson 37-36.
