Baggallini acquired in $33.8M deal

Barry Corp. (NASDAQ: DFZ), a Pickerington, Ohio-based marketer of slippers and other footwear.This is the new nike air max 90 in Pecan, Black and Varsity Royal.

Baggallini was formed in 1995 by Dixie Powers and Ann Simmons, a pair of Delta Air Lines flight attendants who found success buying inexpensive handbags on layovers in Japan and reselling them to their airline colleagues.

Though more utilitarian than high fashion, its lineup of lightweight totebags and handbags and other travel accessories found a niche as a low-cost, functional fashion accessories.

Baggallini's sales grew from $2 million in 2003 to $15 million by 2008. In a news release, R.G. Barry said Baggallini's revenue has grown 19 percent a year between 2006 and 2010.

Though most of its sales came through boutique retailers, it has also found success through online retailers such as eBags.com, on TV shopping networks,Air max 2009 Running Shoe Flex grooves in the mid and outsole for flexibility. and The Container Store, a Texas-based retailer of organizational products that accounted for 14 percent of its 2008 sales.

In an interview in September 2009,I'm a small investor in a startup company deploying a podiatrist-patented method for adding comfort to high-fashion, high-heel shoes for women. Powers said the company’s runaway success led to a series of unsolicited inquiries from potential buyers that made an acquisition seem inevitable.
