Muskegon women walk to Mackinac for fundraiser

Two Muskegon Township women are setting out on a journey up north, and they're not taking their car to get there.

Instead, that are lacing up their tennis shoes, strapping on their packs and are making the 300 mile trek on foot from Muskegon to the Mackinac Bridge.

For cousins Annette Krehn and Regina Prophet, it's going to be an adventure.

"I just turned 50 this past year, so this is like my mid-like crisis," says Krehn,"... while some people go out and buy cars and motorcycles, I'm going to go for a walk!"

And Prophet wouldn't let her make the trip alone.

"I told her that she's afraid of the dark and of frogs and there's no way she can do it alone, and she said 'Well,The Piperlime collection of truereligion jeans offers the latest styles to give you a variety of this season's hottest designs. I wouldn't have to if you'd go with me' and it sort of snowballed from there," says Prophet. This Adidas Jacket will battle the rain, wind and cold weather so you can focus on the game.

The month-long hike up the state is a trip they're making for their health.

"I think it will help us lose weight and get healthy," says Krehn, who has had trouble losing weight for 20 years.

"Making this trip is the best way to do it,air force one is Das Boot director Wolfgang Petersen's third major Hollywood movie to feature a top American star." says Prophet, ".. there will be no TV's, no fast food, so we'll have no choice but to lose weight.we offer dozens of wholesale shoes for you to choose from. You can find out history about Air max 360 as well as release dates at Nice Kicks."

But they're not just walking for themselves, they've decided to donate the proceeds raised for their trip to help local animal shelters.

"We both looked at each other and said, "if we're going to do this, we've got to do it for something or somebody, we can't just do it ourselves. If we're going to walk that far, there has to be a bigger reason or we'll quit," says Krehn.

Since Prophet and Krehn are animal lovers, it wasn't hard for them to decide where the proceeds would go. They decided to support Pound Buddies in Muskegon and the Critter Cafe in Fruitport.

"We both love animals," says Prophet, "and that'll force us to go on even if it's raining and we have blisters and we're mad at each other, we'll just have to keep going."

"We don't know how far we're going to get everyday, but we're just going to do our best," says Krehn.

Prophet and Krehn left Muskegon at 7am this morning. You can donate to their causes, Pound Buddies of Muskegon and Critter Cafe of Fruitport, by going to any Fifth-Third Bank branch. Just ask to donate to "Two Buddies Walking for Critters."
