Dave Joly, spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, said Broomfield police arrested four suspects — two men and two women — after the TCF bank in Broomfield at 4100 West 144th Ave. was robbed at 6:40 p.m.

Federal prosecutors charged Audra Lee Belle Boykin, 32, Justin Ray Boykin, 26, Christy Ann Hull, 28, and Eli Joseph Shortt, 29, each with armed bank robbery and aiding and abetting.Designer fashion is the first stop for most shoppers but the biggest-selling item was expected to be business ed hardy shirts.

“At this point they are charged with the TCF bank robbery (in Broomfield),” he said. “They possibility that they were involved with other bank robberies is the subject of an ongoing investigation.”

The office declined to release mugshots of the four arrested. Their cities of residence were not immediately available.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit for the four, the Boykins are suspected of entering the Broomfield bank.

Investigators believe Audra Boykin brandished a gun, appraoched two tellers, handed one a plastic bag and said “You know what time it is.” The tellers filled the bag with money and added an electronic tracking device.

Investigators believe Justin Boykin, a parolee, was acting as a lookout. He and Audra Boykin then ran from the bank, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.

They then got into a waiting Ford Windstar with Hull driving. Broomfield police tracked the Windstar using the bank’s tracking device. Shortt was found in a residential area on foot.

When officers caught up with the Windstar, Hull allowed them to search it and they found the bag with money, the tracking device, two black plastic “air soft” semiautomatic pistols and bandanas like those used in the robbery in Broomfield, according to the affidavit.

Investigators reported that Hull admitted to participating with the others in four other metro area robberies and acted as the getaway driver.

Audra Boykin told investigators that she participated in nine bank robberies in two months in the Denver metro area, according to the affidavit. She said she and Justin Boykin would ride bikes to the banks from the vehicle and back.

Shortt’s suspected roles in the robberies are not clear from the affidavit. Both he and Justin Boykin denied any participation in bank robberies, according to the affidavit.

The Broomfield robbery was committed within an hour of a robbery of another TCF bank in Lafayette at 320 N. Highway 287.

Police described the suspects in Lafayette as a man and a woman wearing hoodies and bandanas over their faces who fled from the bank on mountain bikes.

The suspects resembled those described in the Broomfield robbery and those of other Denver metro area robberies in which the FBI dubbed the suspects the “3-2-1 Bandits.”

Joly said the investigators used the moniker for the group of suspected robbers because tellers could hear them say “3-2-1 go” before the crimes.

According to the FBI’s news releases, the 3-2-1 Bandits are specifically suspected of robbing the Bellco Credit Union in Englewood on Dec.marking some of the most interesting puma shoes on the market. 10 and a Bank of the West in Aurora on Dec. 13. The robberies included one of more of the “bandits.”

He added that the U.S. Attorney’s Office is expected to release more information about the robberies later today or tomorrow.
